Sekhem Heka
This wonderful system deserves its own page. It was created by Storm Constantine, a member of the Fellowship of Isis, who has sadly passed into the other world. I would be remiss if I failed to include these teachings on an FOI site. This is a good fit for anyone who has an interest in ancient Egypt, especially those who possibly may have spent some time there in another incarnation. This is, in some respects, similar to certain other types of energy work and different in others. It does all of the fantastic things a system of energy work does, however, it puts an Egyptian spin on them. This system was created for both healing and ascension. There are 7 levels or tiers to work with. Each corresponds to a shefat (chakra), a deity, one or more symbols, a hand position, and at least one exercise/guided meditation/ritual/inner plane journey. Through these, you will engage the gods of each level.
This system began with Patrick Zeigler, who apparently had a powerful spontaneous initiatory experience while staying in the great pyramid of Giza. Some time after that, he was attuned to Reiki. Finally, it's my understanding that he did some work with a group of Sufis. He brought these together in a system of energy work he called "Seichim." Over time, practitioners and teachers added things to it and several different varieties cropped up. Most of them start out with Usui Reiki and they have varying degrees of similarity to Reiki. But I believe the actual energy of the system is at least somewhat distinct from Reiki.
One of these garnered Storm's attention and she modified it and made it her own.
Sekhmet is a powerful and ferocious Egyptian goddess. She is also related to physicians. Sekhem means "power" or "might." Heka is "magical power." Heka is also the name of a potent god of magic. It's my own opinion that the neteru (gods) of Sekhem Heka are among the most powerful in existence.
Here are some of the things you will experience and the knowledge you will acquire should you choose to dive into this system...
Level 1: The Shefat is Sen-t. It is red, found at the base of the spine, and associated with the element of earth. It governs the adrenal system, which in turn presides over the fight or flight reflex. It's also associated with survival, fear, basic instinct, animal self, personal stability, matters of security, and the sense of smell. In addition to the meditations at this level, the student goes on an inner journey to a statue of Sekhmet. The gods of this level are Sekhmet and Heka.
Level 2: Khep-ti is the sacral chakra and is concerned with taste and the pancreas. Its color is orange, its deity is Isis, and it relates to sexual energy, sexuality, desire, feelings, creativity, pleasure, self-consciousness, and general well-being. At this level, the student goes on a visit to the temple of Philae on a festival night.
Level 3: Hati is the Shefat and it's found at the solar plexus. It's yellow and connected with fire. Hati governs the digestive system and the pancreas. The god is Ra. Some of the associations are will power, personal power, complex emotion, perseverance and determination, projection of your personality, and the power to affect your reality. At this level, the student journeys to the temple of Ra-Harakhti.
Level 4: Ab is the shefat of the heart. It's green and associated with air. The deity is Bast. It concerns unconditional giving and love, an elevated love that transcends all human insecurities and needs. It rules the thymus gland and regulates the lymphatic system. This level involves an inner journey to the temple of Bast. I hope you are a cat person...
Level 5: The shefat here is the throat center, which is connected to the thyroid gland and metabolism. It concerns the communication of ideas, thoughts, feelings, creativity and self-expression. The goddess is Maat.
Level 6: In this level we work with Aar-t. The color is indigo. Its associations involve self-awareness and self-knowledge, extra sensory perception, the third eye, awareness, perception, intuition, imagination, far sight, time, seat of higher mental faculties, and mental ability to affect reality. It governs the pituitary gland. The exercise here is the ritual of the serpent sight. Wadjet is the deity.
Level 7: The Shefat here is Qemhu, the seat of consciousness. It is violet and located on or above the crown of the head. It deals with the higher self, empathy, true bliss through understanding. It's a source of energy in which all aspects of the lower shefats are united. The goddess is Nuit. And it is here that you will look her in the eye and merge with her consciousness and learn to manifest desires.
If you want to engage in this course of studies and program of attunements, it might be a good idea to buy Storm's book, Sekhem Heka. That's a recommendation, not a requirement.
Cost: $150
